MEDICINAL VALUE OF RANUNCULACEAE OF DIR VALLEY

 ALI HAZRAT, JEHANDAR SHAH, MUHAMMAD ALI AND ILYAS IQBAL

Abstract: Dir valley has diverse habitats for the growth of various medicinal plants. Fifty-one local uses for various ailments were found out for 39 species belonging to 14 genera of the family Ranunculaceae. The local medicinal uses include anticancer, painkiller, diuretic, febrifuges, carminative, anthelmintic, anti-inflammatory, aphrodisiac, cardio tonic, tonic, stomachache, dyspepsia, jaundice, leprosy, cough, asthma, ulcers, vomiting etc.
