BIODIVERSITY OF YEAST MYCOFLORA IN NECTAR OF HIBISCUS R OSA-SINENSIS AND IXORA COCCINEA FLOWERS

Abstract: A total of 17 species belonging to 10 genera were isolated from 11 samples of nectar of Hibiscus rosa-sinensis and 10 species belonging to 7 genera from 5 samples of nectar of Ixora coccinea flowers. The isolated yeast species were identified on the basis of morphological and physiological/biochemical characters. Bullera pyricola was predominantly isolated from nectar of Hibiscus rosa-sinensis.
