NYPHOIDES INDICA (L.) KUNTZE, A NEW RECORD FOR PAKISTAN

 

SARFARAZ KHAN MARWAT, MIR AJAB KHAN, MUSHTAQ AHMAD AND MUHAMMAD ZAFAR

 

Abstract: The present study is based on the results of taxonomic research work conducted in Dera Ismail Khan District, NWFP, Pakistan, during 2005–2007. Nymphoides indica (L.) Kuntze an aquatic plant of family Menyanthaceae is reported for the first time from Pakistan. The specimen was collected from water near D.I. Khan–Darya Khan Bridge. Complete macro and microscopic details and morphological features of this species were discussed. A photograph of the species and its habitat is given.
