ETHNOBOTANICAL STUDY OF KOHAT PASS (PAKISTAN)

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to collect information on how people of a particular culture and region make use of indigenous plants. For this purpose, an ethnobotanical survey was conducted in Kohat Pass, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), Pakistan. The study revealed that there were 60 plants belonging to 49 genera and 30 families which are being used to overcome six use categories by the natives. Most of the species (90%) were used as cruse medicine, followed by food (31.7%) and fodder & fuel (25%). An ethnobotanical inventory along with their local names is provided in this communication.
