Analysis on the Content Change of Typical Chemicals in Ice Ribbons of Isodon Rubescens Stem
JIAN Zaiyou
Abstract
The contents of oridonin in ice ribbons and bleeding sap of Isodon rubescens in different time were determined with RP-HPLC to study the source of characteristic chemical composition in the ice ribbon and its formation mechanism. The results showed that the oridonin content in the ice ribbon of I. rubescens stem was evidently lower than that in the stem of I. rubescens, even reduced over time. The oridonin content in ice ribbon of I. rubescens stem evidently reduced along with the extending of time. The oridonin content in bleeding sap of I. rubescens stem, which was equal to that of the second day ice ribbon, lower than that in the first day ice ribbon. Therefore, the water in the ice ribbon of I. rubescens stem originates from the water absorbed by the root from soil. These water is transported from the root of I. rubescens to the stem, and then transferred through phloem and cortex o to the surface f the stem. The oridonin in the phloem and cortex of I. rubescens stem is dissolved in the water comes from soil and frozen in the ice ribbon.
