Abstract
Ballota pseudodictamnus subsp. lycia is endemic taxa from Turkey. It is used as sedative in traditional medicine. Anatomical features of medicinal plants are good tools for identifying plants and that reason these characters are used in pharmacopoeias and monographs. In this study, the anatomical features of Ballota pseudodictamnus subsp. lycia, endemic taxa from Turkey are examined and evaluated by light and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Results are compared with other studies in the literature. Three different trichome types (peltate, capitate glandular and non-glandular trichomes) are observed. The densest trichome type is dendroid trichomes on the whole parts of the plant. The anatomical characteristics of the stem, petiole, leaves and measurements are presented additionally trichome micromorphology are given for the first time.
