Abstract
Several, experiments have been conducted to increase the germination and the growth of the bitter gourd. The following work involves dry heat treatment through microwave radiation on bitter gourd seeds before planting in the region having a temperature between 15 to 25 Co± 3. In this paper, 2450 MHz microwave radiation has been applied for different amounts of time i.e. ten sec ‘T1’, twenty sec ‘T2’ and thirdly sec ‘T3’. Different factors like Germination percentage, Shoot length (cm), Plant Height (cm), the number of leaves per plant and Leaf Area (cm2) are investigated. As a result, it is analyzed that T1 has shown a better germination rate and T3 has expressed a better growth rate. Moreover, the statistical analysis shows the germination and growth of seeds are higher than the germination and growth of the available in the existing study.
