MELANOSCIADIUM JINZHAIENSIS, A NEW SPECIES OF MELANOSCIADIUM (APIACEAE) FROM ANHUI, CHINA

Melanosciadium Jinzhaiensis Q. P. Jiang & X. J. He (Apiaceae), a new species from Anhui province, east China, is described and illustrated. The new species resembles M. pimpinelloideum and Angelica biserrata, but differs in the petals, umbel rays and size, and mericarp features. Molecular phylogenetic analyses based on ITS data and plastid genome sequences revealed that the new species is a member of Melanosciadium. A comprehensive description of M. jinzhaiensis is provided, including habitat environment and detailed morphological traits.
