Abstract
Abstract
Lisianthus (Eustoma grandiflorum) is a beautiful cut flower and potted plant that originated in the Southern United States and Northern Mexico. It is grown as an annual plant that requires mild temperatures to grow. The floriculture business faces a strong demand due to the flowers' extended shelf life and aesthetic value. Due to high temperature lisianthus cannot grow directly in sun light. For better production and quality lisianthus grow in green house under different light transmission nets. In protected cultivation, the use of various light transmission nets has demonstrated great potential in terms of increased productivity and early growth of some ornamental plants. The use of coloured shade nets to manipulate light intensity is a relatively new technique that is getting popularity around the world. The results have showed that there was a significant effect of quality and growth was observed among different treatments. The T1(Red net) highest values for plant height (cm), number of leaves per plant, fresh and dry weight of shoot (g), No of flowers per plant, minimum days of flowering, and maximum vase life had gained. On the other hand, blue net has short height, highest no of days for flowering, less no of leaves and flowers were observed.
