NOTEWORTHY RECORDS OF SAPROBIC MACROFUNGI FROM HIMALAYAN MOIST TEMPERATE FOREST OF PAKISTAN USING MORPHOLOGICAL AND MOLECULER EVIDENCES
Irfan Ullah
Abstract
This study reports novel and noteworthy records of saprobic macrofungi from Himalayan moist temperate forests of Pakistan. During mushroom collecting trips from Himalayan moist temperarte forests, seven collections were collected which have been identified using morphological and molecular approaches as belonging to three different species. These include; Agrocybe retigera, Panaeolus subbalteatus, and Pseudolaccaria pachyphylla. Their detailed morphological description and illustrations are provided. Molecular analysis was conducted using universal barcode marker i.e. ITS region. Phylogenic trees were constructed using Maximum likelihood method. Based on morphological and molecular inferences, these three taxa represent new records and an addition to the mycobiota of Pakistan.
