Abstract
This study, titled "factors affecting social adjustment of seasonal migrants in host communities: a study of migrated families of Kalam in district Charsadda," investigates the social adjustment of seasonal migrants. The study aims to identify various factors influencing this adjustment, emphasizing the importance of cultural integration, socialization, employment opportunities, and access to local services. A sample of 500 respondents was selected through purposive sampling, and data were collected using a structured questionnaire. Major findings revealed significant associations between social adjustment and cultural barriers (P=0.000), socialization of children (P=0.000), access to employment opportunities (P=0.000), and access to local services (P=0.000). Univariate analysis showed that 47.2% of respondents were aged 41-50 years, 90.6% were married, and 49% had a monthly income between Rs. 21,000-40,000. The study concludes that improving cultural integration programs, providing support for migrant families, increasing awareness and accessibility of employment opportunities, and developing policies to reduce financial constraints can significantly enhance the social adjustment of seasonal migrants. These recommendations aim to ensure the well-being of migrants and promote harmony within host communities.
