INDIGENOUS USE OF SOME IMPORTANT MEDICINAL PLANTS OF PALANGZAI AREA NORTH WAZIRISTAN TRIBAL DISTRICT KP, PAKISTAN.

Abstract


The current study was conducted in 2017–2018 to learn about the traditional applications of plants in the Palangzai area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan's North Waziristan Tribal District. Indigenous plant applications identified during this study included 53 species of plants belonging to 31 families, each with a variety of uses. With five species, the main families were Poaceae and Asteraceae. There were four species in the Polygonaceae family, three in the Asclepidiaceae, Lamiaceae, and Moraceae families, and two or one in the remaining families. On the basis of plants uses there were (35.86%) of the plant species used for animals fodder, for fuel were (33.94%), as a food were (22.66%), stomach problems (15.08%), body ache (13.30%), laxative and diabetes (9.43%), wound healer and diuretic (7.56%), abdominal pain, blood purifier, and constipation (5.64), fever, cough, dysentery, Vermifuge and diarrhea (3.87%), and the use for tooth ache and urinary difficulties were(1.87%).
