Remote Sensing of Phytoplankton Fluorescence in North Arabian Sea
Imran Ahmed Khan
Abstract
This paper is about remotely sensed phytoplankton fluorescence, its monitoring and spatio-temporal mapping. We examined several remote sensing variables provided by NASA portal. These variables are fluorescence line height (FLH), photosynthetically active radiation (PAR), chlorophyll a (chl-a), Diffuse Attenuation Coefficient at 490 nm and Remote sensing reflectance 678 µm monthly data sets during April 2011 to March 2012 from the MODIS sensor satellites data. Results highlights the use of selected variables is useful for mapping ocean productivity and its spatial patterns.
