Nadeem-Ullah
Abstract
This study was carried out in four districts of Province Punjab, Pakistan. The sampling was done in different seasons of the year from different water bodies and 35 colonial species belonging to Kindgom Monera were identified belonging to 9 genera. These species were comparatively studied on the basis of morphological and ecological factors. It was found that summer is the favorable season for the optimum growth of colonial Cyanophytes along with low pH and EC. It was found that algae were abundant in the 7.2-9.3 pH and 54-182µs Electrical conductivity range. This range was found to be the best range for the optimum growth of colonial cyanophycotes.
