Abstract
Calligonumpolygonoideslocally called as Phog which belong to the Polygonaceae family. It is traditionary used as anti fugal. The methanolic extracts, hexane extracts, ethyl acetate extract and aqueous extracts were screened against Candida albicans and Aspergillusnigerin 7 concentrations i.e., 1.8 g/mL per disc, 2.9 g/mL per disc, 6.5 g/mL per disc, 12.6 g/mL per disc, 25 g/mL per disc, 50 g/mL per disc, and 75 g/mL per disc concentration.Calligonumpolygonoides showed significant activity against Candida albicans as the observed MIC is 6.5 g/mL for the methanolic extract, for ethyl acetate extracts the MIC value is 9.8 g/mL whereas aqueous and hexane extracts showed no activity. Calligonumpolygonoides did not show any significant activity against Aspergillusniger.
