We describe, the first time, successful cloning and purification of C. thermocellum β-glucosidase (bglA) gene belonging to GH1 family heterologous expression in mesophilic host E. coli addition of GTG after ATG start codon. DH5-α and BL 21C(+) strains of E. coli were used for cloning and expression respectively. Similarly pTZ57R/T and pET system/pET 28 a(+) was used for cloning and expression respectively.
