Abstract

Analysis of embryo, cytoplasmic and maternal effects and genotype ¡Á environment£¨GE£©interaction effects for content and index of protein and oil of soybean£¨G. max£©in different environments was conducted by a seed genetic model. Five parents were used in an incomplete diallel cross over 2 years. Protein content (PC), protein index£¨PI£©, oil content£¨OC£©and oil index (OI) were mainly affected by genetic main effects, but the total content of protein and oil (TC) was mainly affected by Genotype ¡Á Environment (GE) interaction effects. PC was mainly controlled by cytoplasmic effects, maternal dominance, seed dominance interaction effect and maternal dominance interaction. For PI, seed additive effect and cytoplasmic effect were two largest components among total genetic effects. OC was mainly controlled by cytoplasmic effects and maternal dominance. OI was mainly controlled by seed additive effects, and the second were maternal additive effects and maternal dominance effects. For TC, cytoplasmic interaction effect was the largest components among all kinds of genetic effects, followed by direct additive effects and maternal dominance effects. Cytoplasmic heritability were much more important than seed heritability, maternal heritability, seed interaction heritability, cytoplasmic interaction heritability and maternal interaction heritability of PC, PI and OC. Cytoplasmic interaction heritability and seed heritability of OI and TC were relatively bigger. Cytoplasm correlation for PC and PI, OC and OI are significantly positive. Cytoplasm correlation for PC and OC, PI and OC, and PI and OI are significantly negative.
