Abstract
The purpose of the current study was to isolation and molecular identification 16S rRNA gene and their application on microbiological and chemical profile of King grass and Napier grass. Silage was prepared consisting of four treatments and two as control (adding 2ml/kg sterilizing water); (KP&NP) Lactobacillus plantarum commercial bacteria; (KA&NA) Lactobacillus plantarum isolated strains at ratio of 1x106cfu/g add in fresh K&N grass. After treating and integration, each treatment was packed into a polyethylene terephthalate bottles, followed by sealing with a plastic tape and stored at room temperature. The LA, BA, ethanol and LAB was significantly (P>0.05) increased and AA, WSC NH3-N and yeast was significantly (P<0.05) different in all treatments groups as compared to control while King grass is significantly different as compared to Napier grass. DM, PA neutral detergent fiber (NDF), acid detergent fiber (ADF) and AB were not affected among the treatment and control groups. It is recommended that the inoculation of LAB could improve the fermentation quality of Elephant grass silage and further effort is needed to evaluate these effects on silage produced on farm scale and on animal production performance.
