NEW RECORDS OF PHORMIDIACEAE FROM KALLAR KAHAR LAKE PAKISTAN

Abstract
The present paper reports taxonomic enumeration of family Phormidiaceae from Kallar Kahar Lake and its tributaries, Salt Range, Pakistan. A total of 30 species viz., Arthrospira gomontiana, Phomidium lucidum, P. ambiguum, P. bulgaricum, P. californicum, P. chlorinum, P. corium, P. cortianum, P. crassior, P. diguetii, P. endolithicum, P. formosum, P. granulatum, P. inundatum, P. kolkwitzii, P. lacustre, P. macedonicum, P. molle, P. nigrum, P. numidicum, P. numarium, P. okenii, P. papyraceum, P. pseudopristleyi, P. retzii, P. terebriforme, P. tergestinum, P. willei, Planktothrix suspensa and Planktothrix isothrix have been reported from the study area. Seven species collected from lake water belonging to genus Phormidium viz., P. californicum, P. lacustre, P. macedonicum, P. numidicum, P. numarium, P. pseudopristleyi, P. tergestinum and three species collected from freshwater tributary viz., P. bulgaricum, P. granulatum and Planktothrix isothrix are new record from Kallar Kahar and Pakistan
