STATUS OF INVASIVE PLANT SPECIES IN PAKISTAN

Abstract
Abstract: Invasive species colonize other environment more aggressively than the native environments and are responsible for threatening native biodiversity of Pakistan. For the proper invasive species management and clear predictions regarding specie invasion, understanding plant and its invasions mechanisms is crucial. In recent years ecologists have carried out many studies to gain an insight regarding how these plants work to stay in a non-native environment. This article tries to list down a comprehensive inventory of invasive plant species in Pakistan as well as those invasive species with high impact in terrestrial ecosystems are also discussed.
