Abstract
Abstract In this study, GC-MS analysis has shown that leaf benzene fraction of rheum ribes (LBFRR) comprises of 41 compounds which exhibited antileishmanial activity. 1-20 out of 41 compounds are presented in this research article. The inhibitory concentration which is observed for leaf benzene fraction of rheum ribes (LBFRR) against parasitic and vector born disease, Leishmaniasis is (IC50 74.55 ± 0.4 ug/ml). For leishmanicidal assay, leishmania major is the specie for analysis. Antileishmanial bioassay, MTT Assay (3T3 Cytotoxicity assay, 96 Well Plate Method, Agar tube dilution method are the methods used for antileishmanial, anticancer 3T3 cell line, antifungal and antibacterial activities. None of extract and fraction of leaf of rheum ribes shown antibacterial, antifungal and anticancer 3T3 activities. Leaf methanol extract of rheum ribes (LMERR), leaf n-hexane fraction of rheum ribes (LHFRR), leaf aqueous fraction of rheum ribes (LAFRR), leaf ether fraction of rheum ribes (LEFRR), leaf chloroform fraction of rheum ribes (LCFRR) and leaf butanol fraction of rheum ribes (LBFRR) exhibited no antileishmanial activity.
