DIFFERENT NITROGEN AND PHOSPHORUS EFFICACY ON SALCEDO VARIETY OF QUINOA (CHENOPODIUM QUINOA WILLD.)

Fikret Budak
Abstract

The field experiment was conducted to manifest the efficiency of different doses of Nitrogen and Phosphorus on yield and yield components of salcedo variety. The agronomic performance and quality of quinoa was analyzed feed for ruminants and food for human during 2015 and 2016 growing season in Ankara. In the expeiment, 4 different levels of nitrogen (N0: 0, N1: 50, N2: 100 and N3: 150 kg ha-1) and phosphorus (P0: 0, P1: 30, P2: 60 and P3: 90 kg ha-1) were tested in randomized block design with three replications. We studied herbage, dry matter and grain yield, crude protein content in dry matter (DMCP) and grain (GCP), acid detergent fiber (ADF) and neutral detergent fiber (NDF) levels in DM. The highest average herbage yield (47.9 t ha-1 ) was obtained from the application of N 150 kg ha-1 + P 90 kg ha-1, the highest average crude protein content (14.93%) was determined in DM from N 150 kg ha-1 + P 60 kg ha-1. The highest average grain yield (1.6 t ha-1) and crude protein content of grain (16.8 %) were obtained from the application of N 150 kg ha-1 + P 90 kg ha-1. From the results of the experiment, it was concluded that the optimum fertilizer levels of N and P for quinoa in terms of yield and quality were N3+ P3 and N3+P2 fertilizers doses.
