Effect of NTPDase inhibitor on Leptosphaeria biglobsa in Brassica napus
SONGBAI RONG
Abstract
Leptosphaeria biglobsa, which causes blackleg on canola and vegetable crucifers, is an important pathogen in China. Germination of fungus spores and hyphal growth play a key role in the infection and development of the disease. The current study aimed to observe the effect of NTPDase inhibitor CPZ on morphologic changes of fungus Leptosphaeria biglobsa. The conidial germination, growth speed of hyphae and pathogenicity of the blackleg were investigated after pretreatment of the fungus with different concentration of CPZ. We demonstrated that morphologic changes of fungus were significantly affected by the CPZ, indicating NTPDase is essential in the infection of Brassica napus cultivars.
