Abstract
Two new Kaempferias, K. kanchanaburiensis Picheans., Meechonk. & Phokham and K. occidentalis Picheans., Meechonk. & Phokham from western Thailand (Zingiberaceae), are described. Both new species possess hairy bladeless sheaths, triangular reddish hairy ligule, hairy bract and peduncle, whitish hairy corolla tube and purplish flowers appear before leafy shoots. The vertical sparsely hairy blades with several green or whitish marking at upper surface, short calyx tube and short bracteoles are characters of K. kanchanaburiensis. The sessile horizontal blade, upper surface green with sparsely hairy at the base of the midrib and lower surface pale green and reddish, sparsely hairy, broadly obovate labellum with yellow-orange line at the base are characters of K. occidentalis. The Full descriptions, together with line-drawings with water-color and photographic illustrations, of these species are given.
