THE FUNCTION OF ACTIN CYTOSKELETON IN PLANT CELL

Abstract
Actin cytoskeleton is an essential component of plant cytoskeleton that is involved in all cellular activities of plants. It has always been an intriguing area of research in the field of plant cell biology. In this paper, the data - literature and experimental results - on the research of the actin cytoskeleton in the field of plant cells over the last few years are systematically introduced. In addition, the versatility of filamentous actin involved in plant cell activities is reviewed. This paper predominantly focuses on six aspects: filamentous actin involved in the movement of plant organelle and vesicle transport; filamentous actin response to plant hormones; participation in plant cell division; programmed cell death of plant cell; formation of plant root hair and gravitropism perception of root; plant response to environmental stimulus and the expectations are put forward. These aspects of research basically cover all aspects of the understanding of plant actin filaments. We also raised some questions and pointed out some research directions. The present review aims at clarifying some necessary information for people to explore the function of the plant actin cytoskeleton in the future.
