Identification of European Chlorophyllum hortense, a new isotypic record from Pakistan based on Molecular and Scanning Electron Microscopic (SEM) techniques
Abdul Razaq
Abstract
Chlorophyllum hortense (Agaricales, Agaricaceae) was found during a survey of macrofungi from Rana resort, Kasur district, Punjab, Pakistan. The fruiting bodies were characterized morpho-anatomically as well as by molecular analysis. The identification of the fungi was confirmed by Internal Transcribed Spacer of ribosomal DNA (ITS rDNA) sequence Sporocarps were matched with published data available from India and USA. Phylogenetic analyses and morphological descriptions are provided. To best of our knowledge C. hotrtense is new record for Pakistan.
