ETHNOBOTANICAL SIGNIFICANCE OF VEGETATION OF HEAD SULEMANKI, TEHSIL DEPALPUR, DISRTICT OKARA.

Abstract
The present research work deals with the ethnobotanical importance of flora of Head Sulemanki, District Okara, Punjab, Pakistan, enriched with economically significant vegetation. A total number of ninety four (94) species belonging to seventy six (76) genera and thirty nine (39) families were observed and collected. From the observed species, 10.63% (10 species) plants were used as vegetables, 4.25% (4 species) against diabetes, 13.83% (13 species) had antimicrobial effects, 17.02% (16 species) were effective in curing respiratory disorders, 7.45% (7 species) for treating sexual disorders, 4.25% (4 species) for curing headache, 9.57% (9 species) were helpful against skin problems, 11.7% (11 species) plants were used for curing fever, 13.83% (13 species) plants for gastric disorders, 5.32% (5 species) were helpful to relieve joint pain, 2.12% (2 species) to treat ulcer, 4.25% (4 species) for toothache, 7.45% (7 species) to alleviate constipation, 4.25% (4 species) to soothe liver diseases, 2.12% (2 species) for the treatment of leucorrhea, 1.06% (1 species) for hernia disorders, 7.45% (7 species) were used to cure diarrhea 3.19% (3 species) had blood purifying effects, 1.06% (1 species) for soothing nausea, 3.19% (3 species) to treat cancer, 2.12% (2 species) for obesity control, 2.12% (2 species) in curing animal diseases, 24.46% (23 species) plants were used as fodder and 5.32% (5 species) plants as fuel wood for fire purposes. 39.5% of the observed vegetation was consisted of herbs, 26.5% was represented by trees, shrubs were 19.1%, grasses 11.7%, climbers 2% and accompanied sedges species was 1%.
