MORCHELLA TRIDENTINA AN EDIBLE MOREL, FIRST TIME REPORTED FROM PAKISTAN

Abstract
Abstract Samples of true morels were collected from Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan during macrofungal survey in 2016-18. These specimens then identified and described as Morchella tridentina Bres. on phylogenetic bases using nr DNA bar-coding technique along with morph-anatomical characters. This fruitful addition of Morchella tridentina in fungal flora of Pakistan increases the number of edible morels in Pakistan and will be helpful for comparison and morel cultivation industry in Pakistan.
