Abstract

In order to investigate the resistance of H.spontaneum L. against Sulfosulfuron herbicide, experiments with four replications were conducted in growing regions of this weed in Fars Province (Iran). Experiments treatments were at eight doses of Sulfosulfuron herbicide (0, 6.25, 12.5, 25, 50, 100, 200 and 400g a.i.ha-1). The results showed that the level of visual scoring based on European Weed Research Council (EWRC) was significantly influenced by Sulfosulfuron herbicide doses. The highest level of weed killing was under treatments of 200 and 400 g a.i.ha-1 in all regions of this weed growth. The dry weight response of H.spontaneum to different doses of Sulfosulfuron evaluated using the fitting of the log-logistic equation. The resistance degree of different populations from different regions of Iran against this herbicide varied considerably. Based on the ratio of GR50, populations from Fasa and Zarghan regions were the most resistant while populations from Eghlid and Jahrom regions had a medium degree of resistance while population from Lar was sensitive to Sulfosulfuron herbicide.
