Abstract
Severe late blight disease epidemics in western Turkey during the 1997 tomato growing season prompted an investigation into the genotypes and mating types of Phytophthora infestans populations. A western Turkey-wide survey was conducted from 1999 to 2000 in which isolates were collected from 25 different fields. Twenty-five isolates were amplified with 21 RAPD and 18 ISSR primers.
