Effect of
naphthenates on some phonological characters of cotton 1,2 ABSTRACT: Using gossypium hirsutum L. (cv. M-100)
an experiment was conducted , under pot culture conditions , to study the effect of seed soaking with K-nap (0.00, 0.01 or
0.05 %) and /or spray 90.01, 0.05 or 01%) made at 60, 70 or on 60 and 70 days after sowing . maximum flowering occurred between 64-74 days and flower drop was highest between 72-79 days after sowing
. shedding generally occurred with in 4-5 days after flower opening and nearly 60% of them dropped at his stage . seed
soaking or spray with K-Nao had no beneficial effect on plant characters studied.

Studies on the
yield
performance and grain quality of mutant strains of rice. ABSTRACT: Eleven mutants strains derived through
mutation breeding from two standard varieties IR6 and IR8 of rice were evaluated for their yield performance in field trials for two years at two locations .
three mutant strains of IR6, and two of IR8 gave paddy yields statistically similar to their parent varieties , while the rest of them yielded significantly less. All mutant strains were better in grain quality
(interms of L/B ratio) than variety IR8 , while two of them were better than variety IR6.
